I have to admit I was a bit shocked when I filled out the survey and realized I couldn't check yes to anything. Not that I'm a computer whiz, but I've been at this awhile and was humbled by my limited experience. This class, however, offers everything I've been thinking about learning in the past few years.I've seen Blogs, but didn't really know how to get started with them. I've often thought how helpful a Blog might be for the parents of my students. Parents/students would have the opportunity to read about an experience I've had such as a conference or about some of the classes I'm taking. For example, I just attended a conference about flipping classrooms. This is a class that teaches the entire science lesson in Spanish and then in English. I'll save the details for a future blog. My question about blogging is, how do I get cool backgrounds for this site? Also, I may have inadvertently sent my first blog without finishing...still learning!As far as the interactive whiteboard, I have to say that I'm impressed! I was at a CESA conference last fall when a teacher showed me how she interacts with her math students by using the whiteboard. We really didn't discuss the process, but she just explained that she used it. I currently have some student going into 7th grade, so that be something for me to use. My question is, are there free sights that provide interactive white boards?
I'm also anxious to try out the Google Hangouts with my group. I haven't done that before, but it looks like another thing I could do with students or colleages. It looks like there isn't a charge because it's right on the gmail site. I don't think anyone else in my group has done Google Hangouts, so we'll all be learning this together.
I'm just thinking that maybe I should've done this blog on word and pasted it here? If anyone has ideas for me to make this stand out, please let me know because I want to start to put blogs my website.
